The Santaland Diaries

The Changing Scene Theatre Northwest presents The Santaland Diaries by David Sedaris, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello. We have four performances at Tacoma Musical Playhouse, December 3, 6, 10, 13 all at 8pm, one performance in Centralia at The Evergreen Players, December 20, and one performance in Seattle at The Theatre Puget Sound Theatre4 space at the Seattle Center Armory, December 18.

The Changing Scene Theatre Northwest, Kitsap County’s fringe theatre dedicated to new and innovative works, brings David Sedaris’ irreverent holiday gem to Tacoma and beyond for the third year in a row! The Santaland Diaries features Seattle actor, Tedd Saint-James this year as an out of work actor who transforms into “Crumpet,” a battle weary and bitter elf during Macy’s holiday crunch. In what The New York Times calls “a delightfully thorny account of working as a Yuletide elf at Macy’s,” The Santaland Diaries follows our hero, “Crumpet,” through a maze of terrified children, outlandish holiday shoppers, and disheveled Santas. The Santaland Diaries is directed by The Changing Scene Theatre Northwest’s artistic director, Pavlina Morris, and features Seattle actor, Tedd Saint-James, as “Crumpet.”
